Children who suffer from kidney disease endure frequent hospital visits, complex treatment therapies, and emotional stress.
Our program specifically targets children with kidney disease who are up to 18yrs old and their families in North and South Carolina. Our approach is to collaborate with pediatric nephrologists and social workers across the Carolinas to determine the eligibility and to prioritize families who are in desperate need of relief.
This program allows the NKF Carolinas to provide these families with NKF resources in English and Spanish, $50 toy gift cards for the patient and each sibling in the family under the age of 18, a $100 grocery store gift card, and a $100 gas gift card for each family.
Our 2024 goal is to provide financial support to 45 families who have been impacted by kidney disease, dialysis, and transplant.
Will you help us support these families?

"NKF Carolinas provided holiday gift boxes to 11 of our recent kidney transplant patients this past December. It was such a huge blessing, because the first year following transplant can be especially stressful, both emotionally and financially. Many parents have to take off unpaid time from work in order to bring their children for intensive follow up appts during that first year. There are limited resources in which to help our families financially, and sending out these gift boxes to them was such a nice surprise at the holidays!"
